Labrida is a Norwegian company founded in 2012 that develops and sells a biomarine medical device called Labrida BioClean, a single-use tool for dental care. Labrida is a privately held company with headquarter in Oslo, Norway, and has a distribution agreement with Straumann. Our leading product, Labrida BioClean® is CE-marked and patented, is used by dental professionals to gently clean teeth and dental implants to reduce inflammation and prevent peri-implant disease. Labrida BioClean is sold to dental clinics all over Europe.
Dr. Caspar Wohlfahrt
Labrida BioClean® is developed by a well renowned periodontist
The company was founded by periodontist Dr. Caspar Wohlfahrt, who completed his specialist training at the University of Minnesota in 2004. After identifying the need for better tools to maintain implants, he continued his research on peri-implantitis while running a private specialist clinic in Oslo. Conventional dental instruments proved unsuitable for implant care, which led to the development of Labrida BioClean®—a brush designed for dentists and hygienists to clean implants effectively. The company’s name is inspired by the scientific term for cleaner fish.
